Myles Conti

Beginning his career as an actor, Myles graduated from The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 1997. As an actor he has worked professionally on stage, in films and in popular television dramas.

In 2000 he directed his first short film “The Monkey Who Knew Too Much” which was screened as a finalist in a number of film festivals around Australia, won an award for cinematography and saw Myles short-listed for Inside Film’s “Independent Spirit Award.”

Over the next two years he directed two more short films “Onto” and “Clone Alone”, and in 2003 Myles independently co-created and directed a 25 minute animation pilot “Big Space” with Doug Suiter, which saw him once again short-listed for the “Independent Spirit Award.” His next animation “Hector the Attention Deficit Super Red Cordial Kid” was a finalist at the Melbourne Comedy Film Festival and winner of the people’s choice award at The Sour Grapes Film Festival. In 2004 Myles began working as both a director and editor of television commercials. Since then he has directed over 50 commercials, and edited more than 200.

In 2005 he was awarded an AFC Internship as Darren Ashton’s director’s attachment for the feature film “Razzle Dazzle.” As part of this attachment he directed second unit, was 1st AD for all the pick-ups, and on the film’s completion edited the theatrical trailer and created the DVD special features.

Myles is currently editing a one hour documentary “A Very Short War” which he co-directed with Bill Young, which will be seen on The History Channel later this year.
