SYNOPSIS for "CHAMPAGNE CHAMPAGNE" a film by Karl-Heinz Barr COPYRIGHT by: MULTICORP ARTWERK PRODUCTION.

Loosely based on a real event that happened in the late 1950's in the posh restaurants 'Princes' or 'Romanos' Which were high society and gangster meeting places in Sydney Until the early 1960 In a very up-market restaurant works the maitre'd Andre and his staff of real professional waiters. He is swishing around through the very elegant dining room, when a group of obvious gangsters arrive. They are well known to Andre. Another (opposition) group of gangsters is already seated at an opposite corner of the dining room. They hate each other but being on neutral ground they send each other a bottle of Champagne, but refuse to drink it. The Champagne is only being used to give the opposition the willies .The Gangsters pay for it but want no part of it and when a few undercover police officers arrive they try to send some Champagne over to the police.
