Contact 05: An idea, an event, a network...
Contact has been dreamt and designed by local, non-profit organisation SthSide Events (www.sthside-events.net), creators of the 'In on the Filmmaker' series. Contact is set to kick off October 8, 2005 at the Public Office, West Melbourne. ncorporating a multimedia performance event where live bands, DJs, VJs and filmmakers will get a chance to strut their
stuff for an arts hungry Melbourne audience.
The difference with Contact is that it is designed to encourage and foster direct creative networks between musicians and filmmakers in order to build stronger links between the film and music industries. How? Contact calls for submissions of audio tracks and music video clips for exhibition on the night + all tracks and clips will also be put onto DVD and CD
compilations and distributed to other submitters looking to collaborate on film/music projects, as well as industry parties scouting for film and music talent through SthSide associations.
