Caught Short

Thursday 31 January 2008

Media Release

Caught Short, Darlinghurst's independent short film night, is set to kick off 2008 with an exciting new look and a Mardi Gras inspired flickered feast for all to share. We're jumping on board the sequined freight train in our new frock and celebrating with a special program of films at Tap, the official Mardi Gras gallery, Thursday 7 Feb.

With a mixed bag of docos and dramas, and some that exist in between, this month's screening serves up a mini slice of queer cinema in Australia today. The 7 Feb program features the doco Ready or Not , directed by Katherine Wilkinson. Having delighted festival audiences at Newfest (New York), Q-Cinema (Texas), Melbourne Queer Film Fest and last year's Mardi Gras Film Fest, the film shares the varied, and often humorous coming-out stories of Australian women. Also on the bill this month is Seeya Rach, directed by Pearl Tan, which packs a real punch, and Dirty Little Secrets directed by Gareth McCarthy.

Join the filmmakers and the caught short team for a glass of bubbly in the bar before the films as we toast another splendid Mardi Gras season, a gorgeous new design and the start of another year of hot new films at the ever-fabulous Tap Gallery.
