Silhouette Short Film Festival
The One and Only Open Air Short Film Festival in Paris.
For the third year running, the Silhouette Short Film Festival will be held in Paris, in the Parc des Buttes Chaumont (19th arrondissement), and this time over a whole week, from 23rd-29th August 2004. This festival, free of charge and organised by the Silhouette Association, is a chance for the general public to discover the art of short film in all its genres: fiction, animation, experimental & documentary. And this in the light of the moon and in the fabulous setting of the lake, cliffs and follies of this spectacular landscaped park, once a quarry supplying stone to the architects of the city. The Silhouette Festival is honoured to announce the actress Romane Bohringer as its patron this year.
Every evening a giant inflatable screen will be installed and once the night has fallen, two hours of shorts will be screened, films that are in both 35 mm and digital formats. Every evening the audience is invited to vote for its favourite film. Each night, a return ticket for two to a destination in Europe to be won.
This year the Silhouette Short Film Festival will be going yet further afield, offering a diverse program of both French & foreign films, a chance to discover talents from around the world. There will be 7 evenings of screenings: (final program layout to be confirmed)
3 evenings of French shorts, 4 evenings of international shorts, with a special focus on Poland, Scandinavia and Australia.
The festival kicks off each evening at 8pm with a concert, followed at 9.30pm by a program of short films, shown on the giant screen. The result of the audience vote is announced at the end of each evening, drawing an end to the festivities.
